Lord Richard Everard Daverth is the Head of House Daverth, an old, relatively rich and somewhat influential House of the City which in recent years re-established itself as a paragon of duty, in particular to the City and the Lord Protector. Refraining from boot-licking, Richard’s father Lord Majestos Daverth established himself under a philosophy of nobility as duty as much as privilege – a philosophy which the somewhat reclusive, somewhat scholar, Richard has taken on. But reclusiveness is only by comparison with some of the more frenetic noble families. A generally genial and reliable man, Daverth is neither a paragon. He is, in essence, ultimately reasonable.
